De Watergroep employs more than 1,500 people to keep its drinking water production process up and running without a hitch. In 2019, the Meander reorganisation project brought about lots of internal shifts and new opportunities.
In terms of HR, Meander determined a major part of De Watergroep's agenda in 2019. The emphasis was mainly on social dialogue and the way in which the new organisational structure was implemented. “A large number of employees simply continued in their existing roles, but just over 200 vacancies were created. This gave lots of employees new opportunities to develop themselves and take the next step in their careers”, Head of HR Raymond Bellemans explains. “The process of filling these vacancies was handled by the Staffing division and the large number of managers involved in exams and panel discussions.”
“As soon as all vacancies had been filled, we started training all employees who had moved to a new role or taken on additional tasks. To ensure Meander was concluded successfully, we allowed for a much larger number of training hours than we would in a ‘normal’ year. We also focused on sustainability, digitisation and safe working methods. Starting in 2020, De Watergroep is embarking on an entirely new chapter from an organisational perspective.”
